Single graves
A titled single grave — a specific, recorded plot belonging to you or your family, with the right to place a monument — starts at $3,600. Our staff will walk you through available sections, monument requirements, and ongoing care.
Companion & family estate lots
Companion lots for two and family estate lots accommodating multiple generations are available in a variety of sections across the grounds. These are priced by size and location — contact the office or request the price list, and we will arrange a walk of the available sections.
Non-title community graves
A community grave provides a dignified resting place in a shared section of the cemetery, without the purchase of a private lot, starting at $600. A permanent record is maintained for every individual interred, and family may visit the section at any time. Families choose this option for its simplicity and affordability.
Urn burial for cremated remains
Cremated remains may be buried in a designated urn space starting at $650, interred in an existing family grave, or placed in a columbarium niche starting at $2,000. See our niches & urn burial page for details.
Mausoleum & veterans' sections
Our mausoleum, completed in 1910, offers above-ground entombment in an indoor setting open for visitation during office hours. A dedicated veterans' section has honored those who served since the 1940s, and we assist eligible veterans and their families with VA burial benefits.
Buying now vs. buying later
Every option on this page may be purchased pre-need. New Jersey law requires pre-need cemetery funds to be held in trust — your money is protected — and purchasing at today's prices spares your family both the cost increases and the hardest decisions later. Read more on our pre-need planning page, or request the full price list.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a cemetery plot cost at Evergreen Cemetery?
A titled single grave starts at $3,600. A non-title community grave — a dignified resting place in a shared section, without purchase of a private lot — starts at $600. In-ground urn burial for cremated remains starts at $650. Companion lots, family estate lots, and mausoleum entombment are priced by location; request our full price list for details.
What is the difference between a titled grave and a community grave?
A titled grave is a specific, recorded plot that belongs to an individual or family and can be marked with a monument. A non-title community grave provides burial in a shared section of the cemetery at a significantly lower cost, without the purchase of a private lot. A permanent record is maintained for every individual either way, and family may visit at any time.
Can I buy a plot now for future use?
Yes. Graves, lots, niches, and mausoleum spaces may all be purchased pre-need. New Jersey law requires that pre-need cemetery funds be held in trust, protecting your purchase, and buying at today's prices protects your family from future increases.
Do you have a veterans' section?
Yes. Evergreen Cemetery has maintained a dedicated veterans' section since the 1940s and participates in the VA National Cemetery Scheduling Office program to help eligible veterans and their families use their burial benefits.
Is Evergreen Cemetery religiously affiliated?
Evergreen is a non-sectarian cemetery. Families of all faiths — and of none — have been laid to rest on our grounds since 1853.
