Where your gift goes

Donations support the general care and maintenance of the cemetery: mowing and grounds keeping across more than one hundred acres, the care of our mature trees, repair of historic monuments and mausoleums, upkeep of roads and pathways, and the preservation of burial records that families and researchers rely on. Every gift, of any size, goes directly toward keeping Evergreen dignified, safe, and welcoming.

Many of the monuments and family plots in our care date to the nineteenth century, and the families who once tended them are long gone. Your generosity helps us look after the graves that have no one else to look after them — you can read more about the grounds on our history page.

Donations are tax-deductible

Evergreen Cemetery & Crematory is a nonprofit cemetery company (EIN 22-0898410). Contributions made for the general care and maintenance of the cemetery are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law under Section 170(c)(5) of the Internal Revenue Code. No goods or services are provided in exchange for your donation.

When you give online and provide your name and email, we automatically email you a written acknowledgement letter with everything your tax preparer needs — our EIN, the date and amount of your gift, and the required IRS statements — so there is nothing further to request from our office. Mailed checks are acknowledged in writing as well.

If you prefer to give by mail, please make your check payable to Evergreen Cemetery & Crematory and write “General Maintenance Donation” on the memo line. Mail it to our main office:
